The court of Westminster in central London began meetings to review the request for extradition of Algerian Rafik Abdelmoumen Khelifa sentenced to life imprisonment in March 2007 in Algeria, for the case of Khalifa group. Although it was expected that the trial is examining the request of Algeria, the accused defence, as expected, to extend the defence strategy that had begun since the first procedural session on March 11 last, and has continued during the two sessions of 1 and 18 April. In the meeting Thursday, which is the fourth since the opening of the dossier by the British justice, Khalifa defence tried to cast doubt on the request of Algeria, based on non-conformity of translation with the original version. The Judge Workman Thimoty asked Khalifa defence to clarify its views and its interrogation, and then he said that he admits may be a lack of accuracy of translation, and he will ask for clarification. He also clarified that this can not hinder the consideration of the request, because it is possible to redo the translation pending clarification of all the ambiguous matters. However, the pace of the review indicates that the meetings may last longer than expected if the defence is sinking in formal questions or evokes the « human » of the case.
